City Information 
Deep in the Thar Desert, Bikaner’s spectrum showcases an interesting blend of culture and traditions. The Royal Fort of Rao Bikaji set amid the endless expanse of sand dunes form the very backdrop of tawny Bikaner. Located in the north of Desert Triangle, Bikaner is famous worldwide for its various flavours. Guests come here to cherish the beautiful legends of chivalry and folklores or relish the culinary gems of the city. The world’s most consumed snack Bikaneri Bhujias, Rasgullas and Ghewar are no exception to this. Apart from food, Bikaner is also known for its camels. It is the only Indian city to have one of the world’s largest Camel Research Farm and Breeding Centre. 

On the lines of Arabian Nights, Camel Safaris and Dune Camp Tents also take a traveler back to the glorious past with campfire.

Camel Festival 
Every year during January, Camel Festival is held to celebrate the contribution of humpy ships of desert in the daily life of Bikaner. In this festival, Camels are showcased at their best, with bedecked and bejeweled fineries, performing in camel races, camel dances and exotic camel rides. The evening celebration at Camel Festival includes campfire, dune tents and rustic folk performances charming the audience with their alluring performances.

Junagarh Fort 
This fascinating fort was built by Raja Rai Singh, the scion of Bikaner Royal Family. Located in the plains of Bikaner, the fort’s stone carving is done in red and golden coloured sandstones, with interiors decorated in rich Rajasthani flavour. This fort has seven gates with many Hindu and Jain temples, palaces and pavilions. The museum of Junagarh Fort displays weapons and ornaments of Rajput origins. 

Lalgarh Palace 
Set in red sandstone, Lalgarh Palace is an ode from Rajput prince to his father, Maharaja Lal Singhji. The palace is based on an architectural fusion of Rajput, Mughal and European Styles. With the fourth largest private library in the world, the three-storey complex is consists of drawing rooms, smoking rooms, guest suites, several grand halls, lounges, cupolas, pavilions, including a dining room which could seat 400 diners. A part of palace is still dwelled by Bikaner Royal Family whereas the other part is utilized as a luxury heritage hotel.  

National Research Center on Camels 
The only camel breeding center in Asia, National Research Center on camel features 2000 acres of farm in semi arid land. Managed by Government of India, the exotic camel breed including baby camels can be spotted here along with a ride in the farms. These fully grown desert companions are then sold in cattle fairs at Bikaner and Jaisalmer, where they are bedecked and bejeweled in attractive fineries. 

Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary 
The Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the premier natural reserves featuring exotic and rare species of chinkaras, blackbucks, boars, antelopes or Neelgai. Besides this, Gajner forest area is an avian delight. Once the hunting zone for Maharajas; now Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary is a flourishing natural habitat for animals and birds.

Shiv Bari Temple 
Shiv Bari Temple which is 6km away from the Bikaner fortified by a high wall the Temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. The temple has a beautiful wall painting of nandi Bull facing the Shiva Lingam. This is located on the way to the camel town. The Shiv Bari temple attracts the maximum number of visitors during the month of February. Besides, the temple is always crowded on Mondays when the local populace visit the Temple.

Air: The nearest airport, Jodhpur is connected to all major cities in India 

Rail: Served by two railway stations, Bikaner Junction and Lalgarh Railway Station, Bikaner is connected with cities like Delhi, Calcutta, Agra, Jaipur, Allahabad etc. The luxurious 'Palace on wheels' also covers Bikaner in its eight-day Rajasthan tour. 

Road: The city forms the part of Desert Triangle and is well connected by roads and highways.

Excursions 
Karni Mata temple 

There is a temple at Deshnok, which is different from the rest of India. An abode to the thousands of rats, being at Karni Mata Temple is an experience surreal. And if you catch the sight of white mouse or a rat crosses your foot they are supposed to bring you good luck. 

Jodhpur 
The city also known as the Sun City for its bright, sunny weather is more commonly known as the Blue City due to the blue-painted houses around the Mehrangarh Fort. Founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, a Rajput chief of the Rathore clan who founded the famous state of Marwar, the city located on the ancient road linking Delhi to Gujarat prospered from a flourishing trade & became a fief under the Mughal Empire. Thus years of prosperity now dots the city in the form of exquisite Palaces, Forts & temples all of which may be enjoyed as part of Jodhpur's city tour.

Jaisalmer 
Jaisalmer is a tawny golden land known for its grandeur of havelis and palaces in the north east Rajasthan. With miles and miles of desert expanse and camel safaris, Jaisalmer evokes a number of exotic images about rustic Rajasthan. 

Udaipur 
Also known as the City of Lakes, Udaipur is the “Venice of the East” with plush luxuries of heritage hotels and various lakes apart from its history, culture and scenic locations. Lake Palace is one such example covering the entire island in the Lake Pichola. The mesmerizing lakes here include Fateh Sagar Lake, Udai Sagar and Swaroop Sagar. 

Jaipur 
Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan dotted with fascinating forts. Famous as Pink city because the outer walls of the whole city is painted in pink.  

Ajmer 
A hub of cultural affinity, Ajmer is surrounded by the green Aravalli Mountains. Once ruled by Prithvi Raj Chauhan, Ajmer is now a popular pilgrim spot famous for Dargah Sharif Tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti and Pushkar, the only temple of Lord Brahma. The Picturesque Pushkar Lake is also a sacred spot for Hindus.

Katarisar Village 
Katarisar village is 45 km away from Bikaner, on the Jaipur road, is the Katarisar village The village has a rich wildlife around it, consisting of Chinkra, Desert fox, Rabbit, Peacock, Parrot, Pat, etc. this village is also famous for its fire dancers, performing to the beat of drums on a bed of burning coals.

Bhandeshwar and Sandeshwar Temples 
Located on the outskirts of Bikaner, these 14th century temples are major tourist Attraction in Bikaner. These temples are constructed by two brothers Bhandeshwar & Sandeshwar which were named after them.

Mount Abu 
An oasis in desert, Mount Abu features the highest peak in the Aravalli Range of Rajasthan. Home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and evergreen forests, Mount Abu is a home to a number of Dilwara Jain temples.
