City Information
Kovalam is a land of ironies - the sun kissed golden sand dwells on the crescent shaped beaches. A beach hamlet on the Arabian Sea coastline, this suburb is a heaven for tourists, both inland and foreigners who are driven towards sun soaking, sea bathing and lazing around. Literally denoted as an orchard of coconuts, Kovalam is an ideal beach destination throughout the year. The 17 km long coastline consists of three internationally renowned beaches namely Lighthouse, Hawah and Samudra. These beaches are a picture perfect depiction of God’s own country, Kerala’s natural charm.

Beaches
The 17 km long coastline boasts of three unique beaches - Samudra, Hawa and Lighthouse. Located in the northernmost part of Kovalam, Samudra Beach is a secluded heaven to enjoy the beach retreat. The second in the series is Hawa Beach famous as a hippie paradise and the topless beach in India The third one, Light house Beach is the largest amongst all and is famous for a 30 metre lighthouse. Blessed with natural beauty, the vast expanse of sand and palms along with fine tuned rhythm of waves captivates everyone. Water adventure sports including swimming, paracycling and paragliding can be enjoyed on this beach. Be ready to engulf into the calm of azure blues and the mesmerizing golden sand on the beaches at Kovalam.
Vizhinjam
Just three km away from Kovalam, Vizinjam is a coastal town known for its Ayurvedic treatment centers and internationally acclaimed beach resorts. Being a natural port, the city is a part of the port project featuring largest container shipment in South Asia. Vizhinjam Rock Cut Caves also draw footfall because of its beautiful sculptures depicting the life of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

By Air The entry point to Kovalam is Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala which is just 17 km away. The airport is linked to all major cities in India and the world.
By Train The nearest railway station, Trivandrum Central railway station serves as the base city for an excursion to Kovalam. Built by Travancore’s Maharaja, the station in itself is a heritage complex modernized with all premium facilities.
By Road Kovalam is well connected to cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, etc.

Thiruvananthapuram
The evergreen city of India, Thiruvananthapuram/Trivandrum is the capital of Kerala famous for its beaches, historical monuments and parks. The city came into limelight recently with discovery of treasure troves at Shree Padmanabhaswamy Temple after which, it has become the Richest Hindu Temple in India.
Kollam
Known more as a trading town and oldest port of Arabian coast, Kollam offers glimpses of almost every landscape featuring lush cashew trees, beautiful backwaters, beaches, forests, lakes, lagoons and farmlands.
Kochi
Queen of Arabian Sea, Kochi, formerly known as Cochin, is the commercial capital of Kerala. The Gateway to Kerala, Kochi is the place where the landmark spice trade began 600 years ago through Arabian Sea. With its major port, the city is the financial capital of Kerala.
Coimbatore
Manchester of South India, Coimbatore is a major commercial centre in Tamil Nadu. The textile capital of South India, Coimbatore is a heavily industrialised city and a regional hub for manufacturing, software services, education and health care.
Kanyakumari
The southernmost tip of the Indian mainland, Kanyakumari witnesses the confluence of three seas - Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. Also known as Cape Comorin, the town is famous for Swami Vivekananda’s Rock Memorial and Thiruvalluvar statue, dedicated to the greatest Tamil poet, Thiruvalluvar.
Neyyar Dam
This dam is situated about 40 kms from Kovalam. You may gor for boatride in the lake. One can see The peak Agasthya kooodam from the Dam. The dam was built mainly for for irrigation purposes.
Padmanabhapuram Palace
This palace is situated in the state of Tamilnadu state but close to the Kerala border on the main highway of Trivandrum - Kanyakumari route. This ancient wooden palace is famous for its art works.
Lakshadweep
The country’s smallest union territory, Lakshadweep forms a group of islands in Arabian Sea featuring the only Indian coral reefs. Consists of twelve atolls, three reefs and five submerged banks, these islands offer a fresh take on the beautiful marine life.
